Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Miss Nessa is a cutie patootie for sure. At only about a year old and 30 pounds at most this sweet thing is love and joy in an adorable short and long body. DNA test shows this girl is a very interesting mix of Shih Tzu with a whole bunch of different terriers along with a mix of herding and guard dogs. Basically your purebred mutt.
Nessa is shy and timid, sometimes "growly" girl when first meeting new people but once she figures out you're cool then she turns into the silly and affectionate very young dog she is. She's got great puppy energy still, and can be a jumper when she gets excited. She has had obedience training and it is apparent she truly need her people to be alpha to her or, well, she will volunteer and she's not great at it.
Being treat driven it is fairly easy to convince her to try new things. Though she loves walks, when on leash she can show "small dog syndrome" if her handler exhibits any tension when another dog is near. She might make a great agility dog if her person has the inkling to spend the time with her.
She took to crate training like a champ and sleeps in hers through the night without a peep.
Nessa loves the other dogs of all ages and sizes in her foster home. She loves kids too. Cats - well, Nessa loves cats, but she thinks they want to play like another puppy so not all cats will love Nessa and may have to put her in her place.
If you are looking for an adorable, very energetic, loving and fun short and long girl to add to your family you need to meet Nessa. Read on or go directly to the Adoption Process page of our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - to find out how to meet her.
All potential adopters are expected to complete an application and provide pictures of their yard, patio, and/or balcony making sure we can see the fence line and/or railing. The application can be completed and submitted from our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - the link is found of the Adoption Process page. Applications will be reviewed for approval before setting an appointment to come meet and possibly adopt the dog of interest. In addition, those who live in a rental property are expected to provide proof that they are allowed to have a dog where they live.
Each of our rescued dogs has been de-wormed if necessary, de-flea'd (with topical treatment if old enough, and by medicated bath if too young), spayed/neutered, microchipped, is up to date on shots, and has been fully examined by a veterinarian. In addition, each adopted dog comes with a starter baggie of the food it has been eating, a few treats for training purposes, a rawhide chew, a lead and collar, and a folder containing pertinent records.
