Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jezebelle and I were two of 5 horses involved in a cruelty case in Clermont County, only 4 of us survived. My owner pled guilty on 3 counts and the other 2 counts were dismissed.
I have now gained my weight, I am sound and healthy and am ready to find my forever home. I am a really sweet girl with no bad habits!! I am great in my stall and love other horses!! Unfortunately, I don't remember when the last time I was ridden or if I ever was! I am looking for the forever home I so deserve! I would do best with other horses (mares or geldings I love them all) and I would make a great pasture buddy.
Update: I am broke to ride but need a good refresher course!!
Our adoption area is Ohio, extreme Northern Kentucky (Boone, Kenton and Campbell Counties) We do not adopt to any other areas at this time.
Thank you for considering adopting a horse from Harlequin Haven. Harlequin Haven was founded in 1992 and over the years we have experienced many different situations with the application process. The purpose of the application is to cover as many of these situations as possible. We ask that you think about and move through our application process, that you realize that our only concern is the animals who have found their way into our Rescue. Some have suffered horrible abuse while others were either unwanted or the owner was no longer able to care for them.
Our goal and responsibility is to place them in safe, loving, forever homes. Even though every question on the application may not pertain directly to you and your circumstances, and even though the application and the application process may seem long and involved, we ask that you please take the time to answer each question to the best of your ability.
Adoption Procedure:
Once you have submitted your application we will begin processing it. Answer all questions honestly, accurately and completely and incomplete application is reason for refusal to adopt. Out of area applications will NOT be processed. Our adoption area for horses is Ohio and Northern Kentucky (Boone, Kenton and Campbell Counties). Once your application is approved you will be given an appointment to come and meet the horse(s). We are only open Saturdays and occasional Sundays by appointment only. If after meeting the horse(s) there is a 1 week waiting period which will allow you to think about the horse and how he/she will work in your life. If you decide to adopt and your application is approved, you will be given an appointment to return to the rescue to adopt.
We do not accept checks or credit cards.
If you are in the process of installing a fence, PLEASE DO NOT submit application until the pasture is securely fenced. If you are in the process of moving or are planning to move, PLEASE DO NOT submit your application until after you have moved and settled into your home. We are located east of Cincinnati, outside the town of Hamersville.
