STERLING is a happy guy with a non stop wagging tail. He has a love for life and approaches everything with zest. STERLING loves socializing with other dogs, whether it be playdates with friends or at the local dog park. He is a great companion in the car and loves going on all kinds of adventures. STERLING also likes playing with cats, but sometimes he gets so excited he forgets how big he is and can be a little rough. However, he is easily correctable and can learn how to live with a kitty. As much as this 18 month old boy loves to have fun, he also enjoys lounging around the house with his humans. STERLING is house broken and great in the crate when his mom is away from home. He has started some basic obedience classes and is learning a lot quickly. He is smart and aims to please. STERLING will bring so much fun and a lifetime of memories to his new family!
STERLING adores everyone, but we feel he may be too exuberant for many homes with children under 10 years old. If you are a family who has experience mixing a strong, very active, younger dog with young children, this would be an exception and we welcome your application.
STERLING is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations including 2 rounds of both the H3N2 and H3N8 canine influenza vaccinations.
His $490 adoption fee includes his interstate health certificate and the cost of transport to the New England area after he is officially adopted.

All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted,some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England, Nashville, and Knoxville adoptions (https://alphadogtransport.com) and The Road Home Pet Transport for our Midwest adopters (https://www.facebook.com/roadhomepettransport).
Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.
Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.
