Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, my name is Dean! I may be old and grey, but I have a lot of life left to live. I may not be a cute puppy anymore, but I will love you all the same. I will devote myself to you and protect your heart with all my might. I will appreciate you and cuddle you when you’re feeling down. I will be grateful for you, and I will be your constant companion until the end. I will give you all of my heart and my soul. I will be yours forever if you just give me the chance.
I am a super sweet boy, around 10 years old. My previous mommy became homeless and couldn’t care for me anymore, so she took me to the shelter in hopes I would find a new family. I didn’t like the shelter…it was cold and scary. I was so happy to get out that I smiled throughout the whole car ride and rested my head on my rescuer’s shoulder to say thank you.
I love to ride in the car and go for walks. I promise I will go on walks with you and help you get your exercise! I am housebroken and crate trained, and I know some commands. I know how to sit, shake, and lay down. I like other dogs and I am even calm around cats. People are my favorite, and I love to have my ears scratched. Food and treats are some of the greatest things ever. I wish I could get those all the time. I would be so happy to have a nice, warm bed to lie on and a family of my own to love.
My nice rescuers took me to the vet and found out I had a broken tooth. I had some bloodwork done before my dental procedure to fix it, and it turns out I have something called Cushing’s disease, which makes my body produce too much cortisol. It can be managed with medication, and they’ve already started me on it so I can start feeling better. I will just need to have the medicine everyday and regular visits with a veterinarian to make sure it is keeping me on the right track. I know that can be scary for anyone who might want to adopt me, so if you have questions, you can email my rescuers at labfriendinfo@gmail.com. Lots of dogs like me do great on the medicine and are living happy lives, so I am really glad that my rescuers are giving me the treatment I need!
If you want to help my saviors with the cost of my dental procedure and bloodwork, please go to www.labradorfriends.com/donate-2/. They would be so thankful for your help!
