My story

Birdie is 6 lbs of pure personality, and a shining example of “why rescue”! Within her tiny frame is the heart of a titan and the sweetness of honey.
Meal time is the best time, unless it’s running late. Birdie likes to bark out her dinner order, and she enjoys coaching as her meal is prepared.
Birdie’s size makes her an ideal companion when running errands at pet friendly places. She loooooves laying in a lap for petting, but when she crawls into your lap for a rest, plan the day accordingly...you can’t rush a good nap! Birdie is looking for a home with a lot of love and time to give. She hopes to spend her golden years being adored and keeping a lap warm.

If you're interested in adopting this pet please fill out our matchmaking questionnaire (www.rescuefromthehart.org). We are volunteer based and will do our best to get back to you within 72 hours. Please do not call as our phone is intended for emergencies only. If we feel that one of our dogs is a good match we will set up a private meet and greet We do not have a physical location where you can come and meet all the dogs at once, so meet and greets may take a little time to coordinate. Our requested adoption donation is $350 and all adopters are required to fill out an adoption agreement.
