Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Also known as “Puppy, puppy” or “Thumper” for how loud her tail is as she constantly wags it; is an avid bug hunter, lazy eater, sock mover, and general fan of broccoli.
We estimate Darla was born in early April 2018 and we believe her to be a Catahoula and Australian Shepherd mix. Darla is a brave fighter who has made a miraculous recovery from an unfortunate circumstance.
She is a bit of an Alpha, who generally gets along with other dogs. She’d do best in a house that is familiar with working breeds. Darla loves to play with her 60 pound shepherd and 15 pound terrier foster sisters. It took a bit of convincing but she has learned that she also loves humans, particularly for their cuddles and kisses, which she still doesn’t quite understand that kisses are not just rubbing your nose on your human. She is currently in a foster home in Austin texas.
She is a quick learner and loves to please. She knows sit, down, shake, kennel, bed and kisses. She’s adapted well to car rides and baths but she does take some convincing for both.
Were we not expecting a human addition to our own family, we’d strongly consider adopting her ourselves.
Darla is currently ~35 pounds. We estimate she will grow to between 50-70 pounds.
We feel she’ll do best with a yard and likely a companion. Her sweet temperament has us believing she’ll do well with children.
