My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Russell is in a foster home with a trainer in Bellevue! He is about 4-5 years old and weighs 85 lbs.

His story:
Russell was adopted from Houston in April 2018. He was brought into a family with a dominant, large female shepherd and a pug. This family did not take him on walks or on any adventures. He and the female were allowed to run up and down a chain link fence barking at dogs on both sides all day. He got out of his yard one day and got in a fight with another dog. The dog was smaller and had to go to the vet. Russell's family did not want him anymore. They weren't wiling to work with him or take him to training. We didn't want to euthanize him because Russell was so people friendly and good with the dogs in his Houston foster home. He deserved more. I found an amazing trainer and he has been with her the past 3 weeks. This is what Becca, his trainer, says,

"Once upon a time, just a few short weeks ago, Russell was booted from his adoptive home for getting into an altercation with a neighbor’s dog.
.
They said they wanted him gone.
.
Russell has been nothing short of an absolute rock star during his entire 3 weeks of training with me. I have not seen an ounce of aggression from him - not so much as a sideways glance at any living creature. No barking, lunging, growling, or trying to attack dogs. No overwhelming prey drive. Nothing.
.
This is a dog that absolutely thrives on leadership. He is incredibly intelligent and observant, with a drive to work and be part of a team, while still being a goofy, fun dog. This boy is, in my opinion, the definition of an ideal pet dog. He’s a ham with humans, sweet with the kiddos, and just wants to hang out and do stuff with you. Given the right kind of guidance, he’s been phenomenal.
.
In 3 short weeks Russ learned how to look for guidance and information in order to make better choices; he learned all of the basic obedience commands plus a few advanced extras; he brought all his new skills off leash in the city; he worked around other dogs and learned to coexist in our crazy world.
.
Russell has totally kicked ass and I could not possibly be more proud of him!"

If you think he may be the dog for you, contact Karin at karinkeith@hotmail.com for more information.

His adoption fee is $425 which covers everything plus training so that his newly learned skills can be transferred to his new owner.
