Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jewel is a very sweet, tiny, little girl that just wants to be near you. She has been tossed around quite a bit in her lifetime and she is ready for a solid, forever home!! At just 9 years old, she has a lot of love left to give to the person that will pay attention to her.
Jewel had a dental and lost the remaining 13 teeth she had because the teeth were so diseased. She is feeling much, much better. When she came into rescue, she was on soft food. She is still eating soft food, but now enjoys eating without pain.
This isn't your average pug in that Jewel turns her nose down at most people food and all dog treats. We stumbled upon finding out she loves chow mein noodles!!! Needless to say, chow mein noodles is what she gets when the others have a treat!!
There are some medical needs with Jewel's back. She has been evaluated by the veterinarian who believes it is an issue with a disc. She is weaning off of the prednisone and has had 6 laser treatments. She is doing really well now! She is on Gabapentin for pain relief. She does walk outside using the ramp or the steps. However, when she is outside, she just looks at her foster family. We are unsure of her past, so we don't know if she knows that she is supposed to have a "duty" outside and that is to go to the bathroom. Sometimes she goes potty outside, and if we haven't seen her go potty in awhile, her foster dad expresses her bladder and that works really well.
Jewel is patiently waiting for that very special person that would like to spoil her from now on. She is the best bed partner as she lays down and doesn't move all night!! At just 10 pounds, you hardly know she is in your bed!! We are looking for an adopter that will love her the rest of her life, and also be attentive to her medical needs. She is spayed, caught up on vaccines, had a dental, and her back has been evaluated. If you are interested in Jewel, please fill out an adoption application at: https://goo.gl/forms/ORW8T2CT5rwYPyq92
