Meet Apollo, a handsome 14-month-old Lab/Shepherd mix who was purchased as a puppy from an online classified ad with the very best of intentions. As he started growing into an active teen, however, it became obvious that he required a home more suited to his needs.
Apollo is a very intelligent and active dog who will do best in a suburban, semi-rural or country environment. He has already had some training, but he’s a sponge for learning and would benefit from more. Apollo weighs in at a surprising 72 pounds, which belies his lean stature, but he’s solid, well taken care of, and in top physical shape.
Apollo’s ideal adopter will have previous dog experience. He doesn’t have a mean bone in his body, but he would not be suitable around very young children as he might accidentally knock them over. Someone home at least part of the day with time for walks, exercise and mental stimulation would be best for Apollo. He enjoys playing fetch in the backyard and would make a perfect companion for long hikes. Apollo is well socialized with other dogs and travels well in the car.
Overall, Apollo is a great dog with the potential to achieve even more with the right adopter. Please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website if Apollo sounds like the kind of dog you’ve been looking for.
