My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hank came into our care as a 4 month old pup about 2 1/2 years ago in June 2016. He had been hit by a car, needed surgery to repair his fractured femur and pelvis, and was never claimed. He was adopted by his foster family and then came back into our care this past July 2018 due to divorce and unsatisfactory living conditions. Hank has been in foster since, with a couple of potential new homes falling through (due to no fault of his own), so he is searching for a new family again.

Hank a is 2 1/2 year old hound mix. We think possibly some type of hound + Great Dane. He weighs 90 pounds. Hank is a very good dog. He is well behaved, has an even, easy-going temperament and is always a happy boy! He lived with another dog and a cat in his first home and now lives with another cat in his foster home. He is wonderful with kids. Current foster home is a single mom and her young daughter. Hank is also house-trained.

Full Disclosure Considerations:
#1. Hank’s left hind leg is a tad bit shorter than the right due to his surgery as a pup. The head of his femur had to be removed in order for it to form scar tissue and heal. This does not effect Hank negatively in any way, but could cause some arthritis issues to develop later in life. Supplements to support his joint health are recommended for preventative measures.

#2. Hank has chronic skin allergies. He is allergic to fleas and, recently discovered, seems to be allergic to Seresto flea/tick collars. We recommend oral flea prevention for this issue. No topicals. He also must eat only grain-free food. This is easy to manage if you follow our recommendations.
