My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Remy is a beautiful 1-year-old male red heeler. He's a typical active, smart cattle dog and is looking for a home where he gets plenty of exercise and attention. He’s currently being fostered in a home with cats & other dogs. He would do best in a home with no cats or very dog-savvy ones. He’s constantly following and chasing them and needs to be called away regularly. He has also lived with chickens and we’re told he runs away from them! He’s nervous and standoffish with new people and dogs. Once he knows his people, he is incredibly sweet and snuggly. Remy loves hiking and exploring, but is scared of and avoids new dogs. He has some separation anxiety at home and he’s still getting used to crate training. He’s rides well in the car but will whine and bark when left alone. He learns new tricks quickly and is treat-motivated. He loves playing fetch and makes a great jogging buddy! Remy came to us from a family with young children (9 & 10yo). Remy is microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines and he’s getting neutered on Friday 11/16. He is being fostered in Mount Vernon and his adoption fee is $330.
