Hello New Friends,
My name is Wonderful Winky, and I’m an adorable Bichon mix of about 2 (years that is), My foster Mom will tell you that I am 12 pounds of puppy love, with lots of energy thrown in too. While I can be a little shy when I first meet you, I quickly warm up and soon want to be YOUR BEST FRIEND EVER. In no time at all I can show you how cute, loving and smart I am. Of course Mom isn’t the only one I’ve won over. My foster Dad says I’m a total love bug and super friendly.
I’m also quite a charmer. Once I get to know you I become really attached! Mom and Dad agree that I love to be held — and snuggle a lot. One of my favorite things to do is to follow my humans around, and as soon as I see one of them sit down, I find a way to get into their laps (See, I told you I was smart). Sometimes I become so excited to see them sit down that I run across the room and launch myself into their laps, then give them lots of kisses so they will know how much I appreciate them. Dad just laughs and calls me his “blanket” (that’s because I drape myself over him so I can be really close, then I close my eyes and catch a few winks!) I also like to be picked up so I can rest my head on Mom or Dad’s shoulder, just like a baby.
While I can be a peaceful cuddler and restful for periods of time while Mom and Dad are working (at home) I definitely show my puppy side! I LOVE to romp, run, chase balls and play with toys. And, speaking of toys, I especially love to play fetch– and will play with almost any toy (tennis balls are my favorites though). I love to run and chase whatever is being tossed, then bring it back. I’m not quite as good at letting it go (that part is a bit more challenging for us furkids – but I am working on it.)
Did I mention that I LOVE to play with other dogs? I’m good with big dogs and small dogs (of course almost everyone is bigger than I am but that does not matter to me!) Being a puppy means that I’m always ready for a good game of chase or tug-of-war with my doggy foster sister. And after a busy day running, and playing and of course cuddling, I happily go to my crate with a yummy treat, and sleep quietly all night long. I’m hoping that once I’m adopted I can sleep in the Big Peoples bed. I just know that would be very special and I’m already such a good pup!
Mom wants you to know that I am housebroken (and that’s a very good thing). I already know a few commands and I’m anxious to learn more. Dad has taught me how to ‘sit’ and ‘wait’ for my food and says I learn quickly because I am a VERY smart boy who wants to please!
Because I am such a smart, talented and playful guy (those are Mom’s words so who am I to disagree?) I’m looking for a forever family where there is someone who will play with me and appreciate what a fun-loving pup I am! A home with kids and another furkid or two would be ideal for an active and happy guy like me. Most of all, I need a people who will love and appreciate the lively, cuddly, funny and playful little guy I am — but will give me the structure I need so I can learn to be the bestest little bichon that I can be..
So if you are home most of the time, have another active young dog for me to play with and are ready for my endless love and lots of laughs, I’d love to meet you.
