Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This foxy-faced little pup is Pip, a year old Pomeranian/Yorkie X. Pip is a smart, and spunky little guy with a personality much bigger than his body! He is interested in everything going on around him and likes to check out every sight, sound and activity. He loves attention and lap time but he’s busy and eager to participate in long walks and outdoor fun . HIs first year of life in a very busy home has left him quite anxious about loud noises and new situations. He prefers quiet, calm areas so he is not suitable for city living!
Pip was purchased from a breeder when he was very young and went to live in a family with four children under the age of 7! Pip may look like a toy but he didn’t enjoy being tugged or pulled or being used like a furry jungle gym and seems to have been terrified by the loud and rambunctious activity of the kids! HIs only defence was to nip at them when he felt frightened or threatened. After a year of watching Pip become more anxious each day, the adults in his life realized he is too delicate and sensitive for a life with young kids. They know Pip would be much happier living with quiet people in calm and peaceful surroundings.
Little Pip is a compact sized protector and is quick to alert his owners to the presence of strangers. His favourite places to be is perched on a windowsill or the back of a sofa so he can take in as much neighbourhood action as possible! - He’s a smart little guy and is eager to learn tricks and commands with his people and would do well in puppy classes when he’s had time to get over his anxiety. He fit into his new pack very easily at the home of his foster family. He doesn’t have any trouble with other dogs but sometimes will bark at them outside on walks. Sometimes he reacts the same way with new people too but is quick to warm up to them. With time and patience he will get over his anxiety about new things.
Pip would love to be the center of attention in his new home. He hasn’t ever had the kind of attention he needs to be the best dog he can be. But, he is very young so with the right people he will thrive! He would benefit from sharing his life with another dog too. Playing with a canine buddy in a fenced back yard would be heaven for him!
We are looking for an “adults only” home for this little cutie! He would do best in a home with people around him most of the time and he isn’t a candidate for “going to the office” during the day. Structure, routine, firm and gentle leadership is what he needs.
Pip likes treats but he is a bit of a finicky eater which is typical of Pom’s. His foster mom is experimenting with foods now to see what he enjoys the most. He is a healthy little guy and is neutered and vaccinated and housetrained. He is a fast learner and now he knows to go to the door to let his people know he wants to go outside!
Pip is a good example that “good things come in small packages! He will be a loving and loyal companion who has everything to offer that a big dog has - except his size! He will entertain with his funny little antics and will eat up as much attention as he can get! If you love small perky pups this guy is for you!
