Harpo is a high-energy boy whose previous owners abandoned him in a municipal animal control shelter. As a young dog, he needs exercise and training. He was too rambunctious for the people in the confined space of their mobile home, and he was bored and miserable when they banished him to their tiny yard. His foster mom is working with him on his manners, and with continued training, he'll be a good companion for the right active person.
His foster mom has named him Harpo for his goofy smile. As he settles in to his foster home and becomes more comfortable with his new routines, he's beginning to follow her around the house and more of his Harpo-ness is emerging, part cuddler and part clown.
Harpo enjoys chase games with the other dogs in his foster home. He loves to play-wrestle with Punkin, a little spitzy girl half his size. They're a cute pair, as she pins him and he lets her! They also like to play tug-of-war -- Punkin holds on tight to the toy and lets Harpo pull her along like a little seal.
Harpo enjoys a good game of fetch (although he hasn't quite caught on to the idea of bringing the toy back! LOL) He's an accomplished jumper and he loves to run! He could be an ideal dog for someone who'll channel his energy into agility training.
Harpo is looking for an active person or couple with a sense of humor, who'll spend lots of time with him, appreciate his energy and continue his training. He can be mouthy in play, so no young children, please.
