This sweet boy is named Benji! He is a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. He is a year and a half and has had a ruff life -- but you could never tell based on his silly, loyal, cuddly personality. He was neglected in vet care, monthly preventatives, often left outside in the extreme heat/cold, left alone for long stretches and was severely underweight. While his previous owner’s young daughter cared for him emotionally, they were not financially able to provide adequate care and did not have the time to devote to a pet. They surrendered him and he has been adored by his foster family.He was neutered, vaccinated, put on flea/tick/heartworm preventatives (he was heartworm negative!) and received treatment for Ehrlichia (a tick-borne illness), hookworms and has been gaining weight. He has been running around most days at a dog daycare, making new friends and finally living out his personality!He is housetrained (not one accident!), loves to play and is starting to warm up to his kennel. He LOVES to snuggle -- whether it’s while watching TV or in bed at night (or next to the bed). He loves attention, playing with toys, going on walks and loves to run around in the backyard. Once you meet him, he’ll immediately melt your heart -- he just has that way about him. Benji would be perfect in a home that has another dog/s or one where he is the center of attention. He’s great with both small and big dogs. If there’s a cat in the home, he would need to meet him/her prior to adoption. All dogs deserve a perfect, forever home, but Benji is just special!
