My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you looking for a beautiful little lady to keep you warm this winter? If so, I am your gal! My name is Sissy and I am a gorgeous 1.5 year old, 20lb terrier/collie mix.

My foster parents say I am the sweetest dog to have ever come into their home. I am potty trained, and I will stand by the door to let you know when I need to go. I am a people person! I LOVE everyone.. young, old, just everyone!

My foster family has two small toddlers. Their tiny hands all over me are the best! Anyone that comes to my foster home falls in love with me and says I am the sweetest girl. My favorite hobby is cuddling with any willing lap. My foster Mom says I should be awarded the title of “Best Cuddler”.

I probably burn 1,000 calories a day from constantly wagging my tail, which is because I am such a happy girl! I go into my crate without any hesitation, but I also have such good manners that I am fully capable of sleeping through the night outside my crate.

I get along great with other dogs. Playing outside is so much fun, but what dog doesn’t enjoy the great outdoors! I have the softest fur that looks black, but is a shimmery brown in the sun.

I was told that my ears are possibly taller than a giraffe, but that just makes me even more adorable! If you are looking for a loyal, loving, beautiful dog than I am the one for you!

Our standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit card ($5 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping.

We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Please email safehavendogsIL@yahoo.com for an application or additional details.

Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed.

Please consider becoming a foster home while you search for your new best friend. We need foster homes - pounds are overflowing with puppies and adult dogs that are at-risk and need help. We can only rescue as many as we have foster home commitments. Fostering is a rewarding experience for your family.
