Here's what the humans have to say about me:
How beautiful is Misty looking with her haircut and new coat! She is a sweet 10-12 YO female salt and pepper miniature schnauzer who was left behind at a shelter after her schnauzer brother was adopted. When we found out about Misty, she had already been at the shelter for a month and we knew we needed to help her!
Misty is house-trained and crate trained. She loves to snuggle and be petted. She gets along with other dogs and loves running around in her fenced yard.
She has not been exposed to children in her previous home so should only go to a home with children or grandchildren teenage age or older. Our preference is a home with another dog and fenced yard so she can stretch her legs whenever she wants as she likes only short walks.
Misty does need a home that has either carpet or throw rugs as she slips and falls on hardwoods and tile. She is not able to do stairs.
If you would like to be considered to adopt Misty, you must first apply. Please contact schnauzerrescue@outlook.com for our rescue's application. If you've already applied, please contact schnauzerrescue@outlook.com to be added to the list of those being considered. Rescue Schnauzers usually weigh between 15-25 pounds, they are up to date on shots, heartworm tested and spayed/neutered prior to placement. We make reasonable efforts to evaluate the health and temperament of each dog, however we cannot make any guarantees.
We are not a shelter and do not have a central facility to visit our rescue schnauzers. All dogs are kept in foster homes located throughout the area we cover. PLEASE NOTE: We rescue schnauzers in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., and southern Pennsylvania. We can only accept applications within a reasonable driving distance of our areas of coverage, which includes Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, and eastern West Virginia. For a rescue contact in other areas, please go to our website http://www.schnauzerrescue.net and click on Rescue Links. We have a need for volunteers in Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., Pennsylvania, and Delaware.
Our website features lots of great information about the rescue process, book reviews and training tips. You can donate to Misty's care at http://schnauzerrescue.net/Donate.htm via PayPal or check. All donations go to the veterinary fund and are tax deductible as a charitable contribution. Thanks for your support!
