My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATE 1/22/2021:

Maggie is looking for a very specific family. She has a seizure disorder and is on medications for the rest of her life and will need blood work every 6 months. Due to the seizures, Maggie has had some loss of vision, mainly her peripheral vision. Her loss of hearing and sense of smell has returned. She is not good with steps, so the house would need to be with the least number of steps possible. She is overweight and would need a very special home.  She really enjoys having another dog in the home to play and cuddle. She would not do well with small children due to her vision loss. If you think that you have the time and the home for Maggie, please fill out an adoption application.

More about this rescue

P.A.R. is a volunteer dog rescue organization dedicated to rescuing German Shepherds and Labrador Retrievers in shelters where they are at high risk of euthanasia, dogs given up by their owners because of difficult circumstances, and those in danger of abuse or neglect.

We are also dedicated to teaching awareness, education, help and mentoring the public and veterinarians the skills on caring for special need dogs with Mega Esophagus.

We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process and will continue to be a helpful resource after you have welcomed your new pet into your life...

We are determined to keep administrative expenses extremely low so that virtually every dollar taken in goes directly to the care of the dogs. Our group remains interested in and committed to the welfare of the dog beyond the adoption process, with regards to care, education, resources, training. Fundamentally all donations will be spent directly on the care of the animals.
