My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tuco is a 4-year-old neutered male chocolate lab .Tuco weighs 65 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 10 and up.

Tuco is a sweet medium sized (65#) chocolate boy looking for a new home. He is quite the cuddlebug who loves to be with you. Tuco has very good house manners, but may get anxious when there is a lot of hubbub or pedestrian traffic. He might do best as a single pet or with a calmer dog who won't escalate the excitement; he has lived with a male dog but could be domineering when excited by other dogs or people. Tuco has never been around cats but is allegedly interested in squirrels. He has no history with children.

Tuco rides well in the car, but does pant quite a bit while riding. He knows a number of commands, including: Off, Down, High five, Gentle (when giving him treats or medicine), Wait, Sit, Speak, Up, and
Bedtime (to send him off to his bed).

UPDATE: Tuco continues to be a wonderful houseguest! He is a great dog, sweet and cuddly! He has lost a few pounds and is now about 65 lbs. He loves to go for walks and his foster family is keeping him very active! He is very snuggly, and loves to curl up on the couch with his foster dad. He loves to sit on the deck and check out the birds in the yard. He's loving the cool weather and sunshine! Tuco is a very easy foster and adjusted to the routine easily. He can't wait to find his forever family.

Another day and another great outing: "I took Tuco to the park this morning. We were there for about an hour & walked 1.5 miles. He was very good. There is a lot going on at the park on a Saturday morning. Kids and adults playing soccer and tennis. Kids and adults running, riding bikes and walking. We met another lab and a boxer with no issues. If I could have taken him off leash I think they would have played well together.

I went to my volunteer firehouse to pick up some paperwork . We were there for about 45 minutes. The firefighters fell in love with him. As the guys and gals sat in chairs waiting for a call, Tuco went to each one and sat to get his ears rubbed. He liked one the best and decided he would hang with him. I took him upstairs to my office and he had no issues with the steep set of stairs going up or down.

There was a parade of about 15 old fire trucks blowing their sirens, honking their horns and ringing their bells. His ears perked up but nothing bothered him. We met a dog 1/2 his size (in height) at the fire house and they got along just fine."
