Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Don’t let his age fool you, he can run and play just as long and hard as any dog around!
The handsome Roman came into care through no fault of his own. He is sweet, gentle and maybe a little too eager to love just about everyone he meets!
Roman is loving life with his new foster family. He greets Mom in his crate with tail wags and whines of excitement but is learning to sit and be patient to be let out of the crate. Roman loves his walks but, despite his old age, he is all muscle and would pull his foster mom right down the road if it weren’t for his training tool. So continuing to work on this is a must for Mr. Romey.
Romey is quite the gentleman and has been an excellent new best friend to his foster sister as long as he has his own space for his food – he’s not so keen on sharing quite yet. His favourite past time is snuggling on the bed with his foster sister and foster Mom and Dad, right in the middle of course!
Roman is working on separation anxiety and has been doing really well in his crate. However, he will likely need to re-learn in the first few days and nights as he adjusts to his new home – he needs to make sure you’re not leaving for good! Roman has shown some destructive tendencies when left alone without his foster sister so crating is a must for him. Roman would love to sleep all night in bed with his humans but right now sleeps perfectly in his crate all night.
Roman is an excellent catcher and will show off his wonderful jumping skills whenever he has the chance – just make sure you put your tasty treats away because he is no stranger to finding snacks left on the counter. His personal favourite is freshly baked bread! Roman is a great road trip partner and absolutely loves to ride shot gun and curl up beside you as you’re driving.
Ideal Home: Roman would do best in a home with dog experience that understands how to set appropriate boundaries and disciplined love. But he could be an excellent addition to any home with the right patient owner!
