My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET Prince -

Just saved 21 month old pup named Prince! He's a handsome AKC black & silver/grey wire hair doxie. He was just fully vetted and neutered. He needs to be the one and only, no other dogs, cats or kids, also no farm animals cause he's a real hunter! He loves to play 24/7!!! He's so adorable and absolutely loves to give lots & lots of kisses! He is a dominant male, doxie saavy only. Prince is such a handsome little gentleman! This pup is so sweet with so much potential, he will be the heart of your home!

Prince will do best in a family with a stay at home parent (work from home or retired) and only older children (over age 12), who are familiar with the special needs of Dachshunds.

Like all Dachshunds, Prince is high energy and enjoys playing and warming his little bones in the sunshine, so along with regular walks around his neighborhood, Prince needs a secure fenced yard to run around and explore safely. While small in stature, doxies are big on personality and don't generally do well in apartments, with all of the noises and traffic that come with multiple dwellings in a confined space. To best set up our doxies and their new families for success, ODR, Inc., adopt to families who live in single family homes with secure fenced yards.

OUR CRITERIA (aka The Fine Print):

Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and children need to be 12 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc). Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember, these are rescues; many were surrendered because of these issues.

WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN WITH YOUR LITTLE RESCUE:

All our dogs are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Pyrantyl, nails trimmed, and dental when needed. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $495, sorry no exceptions, as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.

Can you give Prince a happy, carefree life again? If interested, please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.odr-inc.org and email it to: jrangan@comcast.net. The adoption committee will attempt to be in contact with you within 48-72 hours. Please be patient as we are solely volunteer run.
