Here's what the humans have to say about me:
These adorable boys were rescued from a farm where they were breeding Great Pyrenees, Maremma, Newfoundland crosses. They were born in April and have spent all that time in a field with goats and no human contact. They are super sweet, get along with all other dogs and, understandably, shy around people. Our volunteers spend time with them every day, giving them lots of treats and slowly getting them to trust a human touch. We are looking for families who have patience and understand what it takes to raise a puppy, as these guys will need socialization, leash training, and to be housebroken. They will be available once they are vet checked, brought current on vaccines and neutered.
Note: Great Pyrenees are considered a Giant Breed. Average weight can be 100lbs. or more. They bark, shed and have a wanderlust, so secure fences are a must have. They are NOT off leash dogs and a Pyr off leash is called a "dis'a'Pyr". Some Pyrs do well with other dogs and some don't because by the virtue of their breed traits they were bred to keep out intruders and can consider some dogs as intruders. While they make wonderful pets and family dogs, they aren't for everyone so be sure to understand and learn about the breed traits of this breed or any breed you might be considering.and basic manners.
