We have a dark ebony male chinchilla who’s looking for his new home. He came to NWI just a bit ago, and is now ready to leave and go to a family of his own. We have that he was born around 4/1/16, so he’s about 2.5 years old right now, a great time to bring him home!

This chinchilla is what’s known as a culled breeder. That means he was used for breeding at a larger ranch, and when he stopped breeding, he was no use to them, so we got him to find him a home.

He is a dark ebony chinchilla. Basically, this means that unlike most chinchillas which have a white belly, the ebony gene wraps his color around his whole body, so he is pretty much solid black.

This chinchilla is a super sweet guy. He can be a little talkative at times when you go to pick him up, but he is totally all bark and no bite. When you’re handling him, he is super sweet and does well with being handled and petted. He sits pretty nicely in your arms to be handled and petted. Sweet boy, doesn’t bite.

He would make a great “first chinchilla” for someone who’s never had one before.

This chinchilla is currently caged alone. However, if you interested in pairing him up with your, or one of our, chinchillas, let us know and we’ll see what we can do.

This chinchilla will come with some food to start you out (Tradition pellets), a goodie bag of chews/treats, and a printed out version of our care packet. He will also come with a lifetime of help and support, should you ever need it. If more supplies are needed, we also sell a variety of chinchilla supplies, from cages to hidey houses to hammocks and everything in between.

Regardless of past chinchilla experience, all potential homes will be asked to read our chinchilla care packet and fill out our adoption application/chinchilla questionnaire. If you are unwilling to do this, please do not waste our time or yours. No chinchilla will go to a new home without an adoption application being filled out - no exceptions.

This chinchilla is located in Hammond, Indiana (zip code 46324). Sorry, we are unable to ship at this time.

The adoption fee for this ebony male chinchilla is $200
