My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We have a brown velvet male chinchilla who’s looking for his new home. He came to NWI just a bit ago, and we have down that he was born around 3/12/18, which makes him right around 6 months old – a great time to make him an addition to your home!

His color is called brown velvet, which is a chocolate-y brown color over his back, with a white belly. He has ruby eyes. Brown velvets aren’t a color you come across all the time, so he’s something unique!

This guy is just super cute! He continually comes to the front of the cage and loves to popcorn off the walls! He’s definitely not one to be afraid of people, he will hop right up on your arm… probably during playtime as well, but for sure if he thinks it will allow him to explore further! He can be a bit antsy when being held, as he does have his moments of young-chin-energy, but he is actually super sweet, and does really well with being handled and petted, most of the time anyway. He’s not overly energetic, but he’ll definitely be a fun one to own! Love him to death, adorable face. Doesn’t bite.

He would make a great “first chinchilla” for someone who’s never had one before.

This chinchilla is currently caged alone. However, we did pair him with another chin for a potential adopter (who has since vanished, and they did just awesome together, so it’s very possible he could have a buddy. If you interested in pairing him up with your, or one of our, chinchillas, let us know and we’ll see what we can do.

This chinchilla will come with some food to start you out (Tradition pellets), a goodie bag of chews/treats, and a printed out version of our care packet. He will also come with a lifetime of help and support, should you ever need it. If more supplies are needed, we also sell a variety of chinchilla supplies, from cages to hidey houses to hammocks and everything in between.

Regardless of past chinchilla experience, all potential homes will be asked to read our chinchilla care packet and fill out our adoption application/chinchilla questionnaire. If you are unwilling to do this, please do not waste our time or yours. No chinchilla will go to a new home without an adoption application being filled out - no exceptions.

This chinchilla is located in Hammond, Indiana (zip code 46324). Sorry, we cannot ship.

The adoption fee for this brown velvet male chinchilla is $225
