Stella #3 is a 3-year-old spayed female yellow lab. Stella weighs 65 pounds and is up to date on shots. She is bonded with Lily #3 and the 2 must be adopted together.
Stella & Lily are a bonded pair. Stella is Lily's daughter and she has been with her since she was born. Stella is more outgoing and comes to meet you first, Lily hangs back a minute then joins you. They are easy going and like to be with you getting petted and giving kisses.. They spent time out in the yard during the day and were inside in bad weather and at night. They enjoy going for rides in the car and ride very nicely. Neither one has shown much interest in retrieving but Stella will go see what was tossed but hasn't started bringing it back yet. Stella likes to go swimming and Lily settles for wading. They are laid back when they are together but miss each other if separated so they will stay together. They are looking for a family that will give them lots of love, attention and training.
They are approved for kids 6 and up as they've lived with 3 boys now 8, 12, & 16. Good with other dogs, lived with a cat but do not have much to do with her. Know their basic commands. Sit, stay, come and down (most of the time). Pulls some on leash, better with and Easy Walk. Both are house and crate trained but do not need to be crated. They would do best in a single family home with a fenced yard.
They were given up as the family has two teenagers and wife has medical complications so will be spending a lot of time in the hospital.
UPDATE: Lily and Stella are all settled in at their foster home. Within 10 minutes of their arrival Lily, Stella and the resident dog were all great friends. When the girls arrived they were quick to rush out the door and pulled on leash but in just a few short days they have become accustomed to waiting for a command before slowly walking out the door. Yesterday Stella went for a run with foster dad while Lily went for an excursion with foster mom and the human girls. Lily was vey friendly meeting a dog in the pet store. Both Stella and Lily are great in the car. They enjoy chewing on Nylabones and haven't chewed anything else and there are many shoes sitting around untouched. Neither girl shows any food aggression. Both girls go in their crates with no problem but today they were left gated downstairs for several hours and did great!
Stella and Lily are a dream to foster. They are awesome in the car! They have a once daily friendly romp with the resident dog and then they are content to lounge around the house. They get along with all new people and new dogs they meet. Both girls are super gentle taking treats. The girls are crate trained but have a gated area where they stay when the humans are gone. Lily and Stella sleep with the humans at night.
