Midnight joined PPAR with his littermate Shadow. Midnight is a very happy guy, with lots of curiosity! He loves to play with toys and play fetch, he loves to go on walks and see new things (he gets so excited he jumps along next to you sometimes!). He is very smart, but not treat motivated. He knows sit & come, as well as fetch. He is kennel and potty trained. He learns routine and patterns quickly. He loves water, and lays in the tub for his baths! Midnight is fostered in a home with dogs, kids and cats. He does great with other dogs, and respects their space well while playing. He loves kids, but can be a bit mouthy. He barks and chases cats, so would likely do best in a feline-free home.
Midnight spent the first part of his life with limited socialization, aside from his brother & original owner. New things scare him. He is very curious to learn (his tail never stops wagging!) but he can be very cautious. He is getting used to hard floors, but definitely prefers carpet/rugs. He barks at people as we approach them on walks and if they come near his fenced yard. It is not an aggressive bark, just a bark!
Midnight joined PPAR severely underweight. He has been gaining weight and is currently about 55 lbs, but should likely be closer to 65 lbs. Midnight will require regular grooming.
We would love to see Midnight and his brother, Shadow, adopted together! They have spent their whole lives together and Shadow could use his support! Applicants interested in both pups will get preferential treatment.
Midnight has been neutered, microchipped & vaccinated. If you are interested in learning more about him or applying for his adoption, please email adoptions.protectingpaws@gmail.com.
