Adoption application at www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APP before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thanks for your cooperation!***
WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE ARE AN ALL VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to come look at a dog We will contact you once we have received and reviewed your completed application. A Home visit as well as a reference check MUST be completed before a meet & greet.
Tula female Carin Terrier/ mix, 2 years old, 16 lbs, spayed etc
So this one is absolutely soul destroying.
Tula was from a kill shelter in CA & we rescued her along with her little friend & they were bonded but her little friend Nicki was quite a mess when we got her out & quickly discovered she needed quite a lot of medical care there was a huge amount of neglect. We got them both to our vets in CA & then bought them back to WA where all of their medical care was taken care of but one day while Nicki was playing she all of a sudden passed away. Tula would not leave her & kept licking her, it was so unbelievably heartbreaking that the man looking after them sat with her while she said goodbye & they both grieved together the loss of Nicki.
Tula is a spayed female Carin Terrier mix, what she is mixed with we do not know. She weighs roughly 16 lbs, is up to date on her shots, heart worm negative, chipped, loves all other dogs, great with people & we have not had her around cats before.
Tula is a very sweet little lady & we want her to go to a home with another friend present for her to be with & we so want her to be cherished after everything she has been through. Her foster mum said she definitely can be in a family that has other dogs that love to play but she may take a little while to warm up to you.
She loves to sit next to you on the couch & to snuggle with another little dog. She will follow you around the house & walks well on a leash & is curious.
Someone has also unfortunately docked her sweet little tail.
Tula has been around cats in her previous foster home & did fine since being but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had her around small children so this would be up to the new family to be responsible with.
We do not know for sure what breed Tula is mixed with & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is.
As with all of our rescues & Tula’s friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training will in fact take them to training.
Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Tula & going through the process and have read her listing fully to the end & are interested in adopting. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a home visit followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Tula that meet all the requirements for this adorable little fellow.
Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately.
Tula has an adoption fee of $685 & is ready for his truly loving forever home.
An application must be filled out before consideration for adoption. Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to commit a lifetime to him/her. We are an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit group of animal lovers. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable as we need these funds to pay our current medical bills for our dogs as well as any future dogs we rescue as well.
As an adopter, you must be prepared to accept the fact that these dogs are rescues and, just like you and I, they all have their own individual personalities. In most cases, these little ones have been through a difficult journey that started when their family gave them up or they became lost. They may have been under stress, neglected or even abused in their past life or frightened by being left alone on the streets to fend for themselves.
Our number one focus is finding these little loves a wonderful forever home with a family who is going to care for them and show them what it is like to be loved, a safe environment, a full belly and a warm bed. These sweet babies do not ask for much from you but they may require a little patience and understanding.
