My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gizmo is a very loving and affectionate 7 year old, 22-lb terrier mix. He was found wandering the streets and picked up as a stray by a very high-kill shelter in California. His history prior to entering the shelter is unknown, but we suspect he had a rough life. Although he is extremely loving and trusting with the people he knows, it takes Gizmo a while to warm up to new people. Since being rescued, he has come a long way in his ability to trust new people, however he still has some work to do.

Gizmo currently lives with 2 medium/large sized dogs (1 male, 1 female), and 2 cats, all of whom he gets along great with. He walks perfect on leash, and is also happy to just lay around cuddling.

Gizmo would make a wonderful and loving companion in most households, although he would be best suited in a home without young children. His perfect family is one who will continue to work on his behavioral quirks, and be patient with him as he continues his training. Gizmo has successfully completed Adult Level 1 Dog Training at Petco. He knows basic commands such as sit, shake, lay down, off, etc. He is also potty-trained and crate-trained.
