Adoption application at www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APP before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thanks for your cooperation!***
WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE ARE AN ALL VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to come look at a dog We will contact you once we have received and reviewed your completed application. A Home visit as well as a reference check MUST be completed before a meet & greet.
Mochi doxy mix/ what he is mixed with unknown. Neutered, just over 11.2 lbs.
Come on, how on earth could this lovely little chap end up in a kill shelter in CA, it breaks your heart to think of him being there & seeing him there did break our hearts & we were not leaving him & good thing as we come to find out he was under the weather with an upper respiratory infection.
Mochi was from a kill shelter in CA & we rescued him & got him to our vets in CA & then bought him back to WA & this little man is looking for a loving family who has another little dog in the home for him to play with, he enjoys the company of other dogs so this is a requirement in his new forever home.
Mochi is a neutered male Dachshund mix, what he is mixed with we do not know. He weighs roughly 11.2 lbs, neutered, is up to date on his shots, heart worm negative, chipped, loves all other dogs, great with people, no chickens or cats as he enjoys chasing them.
Mochi’s foster mum & dad said he definitely can be in a family that has other dogs that love to play but no cats no chickens he chases them thinking they’re playing and they don’t like it.
He loves to sit next to you or on your lap. He follows you around the house or would like to sit up in areas that he can watch you. He loves to take his walks and is doing well on his potty training, but of course still needs work. Loves this little lion toy that he found and tosses it around the house. So Mochi would need a forever home where there are lots of toys for this little man to play with.
Mochi does think he has the nose of a Bloodhound so he is always outside sniffing everything sometimes he gets so carried away with all his sniffing, what a character.
Mochi has been around cats since being in the rescue & does chase them so it’s not a good fit with a home with cats but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had him around small children so this would be up to the new family to be responsible with.
We do not know for sure what breed Mochi is mixed with & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is.
As with all of our rescues & Mochi friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training will in fact take them to training.
Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Mochi & going through the process and have read her listing fully to the end & are interested in adopting. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a home visit followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Mochi that meet all the requirements for this adorable little fellow.
Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately.
Mochi has an adoption fee of $685 & is ready for his truly loving forever home.
An application must be filled out before consideration for adoption. Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to commit a lifetime to him/her. We are an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit group of animal lovers. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable as we need these funds to pay our current medical bills for our dogs as well as any future dogs we rescue as well.
As an adopter, you must be prepared to accept the fact that these dogs are rescues and, just like you and I, they all have their own individual personalities. In most cases, these little ones have been through a difficult journey that started when their family gave them up or they became lost. They may have been under stress, neglected or even abused in their past life or frightened by being left alone on the streets to fend for themselves.
Our number one focus is finding these little loves a wonderful forever home with a family who is going to care for them and show them what it is like to be loved, a safe environment, a full belly and a warm bed. These sweet babies do not ask for much from you but they may require a little patience and understanding.
