My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kaycee is a sweet and tiny little thing, only just over five pounds. Just the perfect size to fit in a handbag or tuck neatly in the crook of your arm to go out on the town.

Kaycee came to us from her owner who had to make the hard decision of whether or not to stay in her rental home or reduce the number of dogs she had living there. Kaycee has kwown nothing but love her entire life and so it's no wonder she only has love to give.

Kaycee is on the shy side and has apparently not been around many men if any at all so she is very wary around them. She is a gentle and demure thing that needs some coaxing to meet new people but when she figures out they mean her no harm then they are good as gold for her.

Kaycee does great in a crate for travel and sleeping, and though she's good on a leash she would much rather be carried. She does great with other small dogs when introduced correctly, and cats are okay. We are looking for a home where any children living there are over 12 years old.

If you have been looking for a tiny dog to be your traveling companion and look great doing so then be sure to read on or go to the Adoption Process page of our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - to find out how to meet Kaycee.

All potential adopters are expected to complete an application and provide pictures of their yard, patio, and/or balcony making sure we can see the fence line and/or railing. The application can be completed and submitted from our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - the link is found of the Adoption Process page. Applications will be reviewed for approval before setting an appointment to come meet and possibly adopt the dog of interest. In addition, those who live in a rental property are expected to provide proof that they are allowed to have a dog where they live.

Each of our rescued dogs has been de-wormed if necessary, de-flea'd (with topical treatment if old enough, and by medicated bath if too young), spayed/neutered, microchipped, is up to date on shots, and has been fully examined by a veterinarian. In addition, each adopted dog comes with a starter baggie of the food it has been eating, a few treats for training purposes, a rawhide chew, a lead and collar, and a folder containing pertinent records.
