Dutch is a Domestic Short Hair (DSH), female, DOB: 7/26/18.
An equally quirky and cheerful feline like Mila (her sister), Dutch, is a sensitive girl and can be a little hesitant when presented with unfamiliar situations but her friendly, inquisitive nature makes it impossible for her to play coy for long. Once confident and knowing all is well – she warms up quickly. Definitely liking attention, she will readily approach people to give and receive affection when she feels comfortable; and with a few soft-spoken words of encouragement she will become quite engaging. Dutch also really enjoys pets and affection, and she loses all inhibition when the petting begins, giving many licks of appreciation.
Again, much like her sister, Dutch does not hesitate when it comes to initiating interactive play. She thoroughly enjoys toys and playtime – both independent and interactive – one of her favorite toys -- an interactive feathery stole on a stick. Dutch also enjoys exploring on her own where she will prowl, stalk, and pounce upon lurking shadows and dust bunnies (and sometimes an unaware sibling).
Born to extremely-protective mom, Nora, in July of 2018, Dutch is the littermate of siblings, Mila, Brascoe, Jetson, Billie Buttons, Oslo, and surrogate siblings, Draco and Eclipse. Happy, healthy cats from birth, Dutch and Mila have lived together since then and would do well living in a home together as a bonded pair. They are looking for a forever family who will welcome and embrace them as life-long, beloved companions and family members, and always appreciate them for the affectionate, definitely one-of-a-kind, endearingly quirky souls they are.
Dutch is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a calm, low-active to moderately active lifestyle and no active young children under the age of twelve (12). She is comfortable with other compatible cats and kittens, and she’ll be comfortable in the presence of well-mannered, cat-friendly dogs after being given some adjustment time to warm-up and settle into her new surroundings. As with all Monroe SPCA adoptable animals, a home visit and a meet-n-greet with any housemate pets will be required prior to adoption.
Dutch currently resides at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store. You can meet her by appointment with pre-approved adoption application. To start the adoption process, complete and submit Monroe SPCA’s adoption application linked above.
