Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Tulip is a Maine Coon/Domestic Long Hair (DLH)-mix, female, 3 months of age, DOB: (7/3/18).
An adorable and adoring snuggle-ball of sweetness and fluff, Tulip is all heart and personality. A fearless, sometimes curiously brash kitten, she thoroughly enjoys ruff-n-tumble playtime with other felines -- whether big cats or small kittens and just about anything in between, she’ll be seeking them out with invitations to join her in cute kitten play antics.
Equally content to play and conquer new feats all on her own too, Tulip has an adventurer’s spirit and enjoys independently prowling and stalking shadows, dust bunnies, toys, and sometimes other kittens – fair game, whatever is available; she’ll also be looking for and inviting some vigorous interactive playtime with her people.
In addition to being a normal, delightfully charming and rambunctiously playful kitten, Tulip loves being the center of attention and cooed with gently-spoken words. Extremely loving and affectionate, this young girl is perfectly comfortable being held, and she loves to snuggle close in the arms of her favorite people – indicating her appreciation with sweet, steady purring. Entirely engaging, brimming with enthusiasm, more tomboy than girlie-girl, she is, most of all, an extremely social and friendly kitten and always just happy-happy-happy!
Tulip, just like foster siblings Hokulani, Captain Jack, and so many of our kittens, came to Monroe SPCA because of being sick and starving, a tiny kitten, barely more than an infant, found outdoors and thought to be recently orphaned. Not able to eat on her own, she required bottle and syringe feeding early on and has been treated for a URI, Giardia, Coccidia, ear-mites, and Roundworm while with us.
Now a healthy, happy kitten, Tulip is looking for a forever family who can give her the time and attention a kitten needs. We recommend a paired-adoption with foster brother, Captain Jack, who is similarly-suited in personality and temperament to Tulip, although a pairing with several of our other kittens would also be an excellent choice and good fit.
Tulip is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a low to moderately-active lifestyle. She likes and gets along well with other compatible cats, and she’s comfortable in the presence of well-mannered, cat-friendly dogs and respectful children of any age.
As with all Monroe SPCA adoptable cats, a home visit and meet-n-greet with any housemate pets will be required prior to adoption.
Tulip currently resides at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store. You can meet her Tuesday – Thursday, 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm; Friday and Saturday, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm; or by appointment; closed Sunday, Monday, and National Holidays.
All Monroe SPCA cats available for adoption have an adoption fee of $85.00. This fee includes the cat being spayed or neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, tested for FeLV and FIV, and microchipped with lifelong registration prior to adoption.
Completed adoption applications can be emailed to info@monroespca.org or dropped off at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store located at 293 W. Monroe St, Dundee, MI 48131.
