My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zappa is a 2 year old Blue Merle Standard Aussie. He came to ASF after losing his person twice which caused some trust issues. He is the epitome of Velcro Aussie. Zappa is still learning what being a dog is all about but has come a really long way in learning to play with other dogs and toys, so a dog friend around his size (between 30-50lbs) is ideal. Zappa does best with a routine so he will need a family that can give him structure. He will need to go for walks and have his family spend time with him. He would not do well in a home where humans are gone 8+ hours a day. Zappa will require a special home with a dog savvy human who can continue to work with him. No small children at this time but a calm respectful teen may be okay. He is house and crate trained, dog and cat friendly. All family members will need to meet Zappa and Adopters should be within 2-3 hours of Oklahoma City, OK so that Zappa's foster and trainer can provide continued support as he adjusts to his new home.
