My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Eli is an absolutely adorable super sweet snuggly 10 yr old Pug. He was rescued from a local shelter after his “stray” hold was up. We cannot quite figure out what happened as he really isn’t the type of dog to run away…..

Eli does have some pretty severe arthritis in his back end accompanied by some ataxia - which is being managed with affordable meds. He also has KCS (dry eye) which is easily managed with 2x daily eye drops. His vision is somewhat limited as a result of his KCS going un-treated but he is not blind. He also has some hearing impairment but is not completely deaf. Eli absolutely cannot do stairs.

Despite all this he is a total lovebug and easy going dude! He is fine with other dogs and oblivious to the cats. He loves neck scratches and tail scritches! He tries so hard to jump up on the couch but he can’t quite make it and once up - he is happy to sit in your lap or just next to you. He really loves to be around his people. He is fine with dogs and cats but would be a great canine companion but not a good playmate!

Eli does require stair free access to a securely fenced yard – this is non negotiable. And if there are stairs within in the home they need to be able to be blocked off. He has taken to house-training quite well and just needs some extra wandering time outside.

Eli is vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, chipped and neutered.
