Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello World!
My name is Fabulous Finley and I am a handsome Bichon of eight who is sweet, loving and smart. with a lovely soft white coat and beautiful brown eyes that you can get lost in. I’m a kind of pup" who LOVES the ladies and wants to be some special person’s one and only (pup that is).
You might think that a little boy of only 11 lbs who is as cute as I am would have had a perfect life, but sadly, that was not the case. Originally I lived at a house where people would yell at me or otherwise ignore me. I proved how smart I was because I ran away - and ended up at a place called a shelter. While I was ‘on the road’ I had to fend for myself. And even at the shelter I was pretty scared, being as little as I am. In fact I was as sad and frightened as a pup could be.
And then things got even worse. I was put in a kennel with a big mean dog who attacked me! The good news is that I got moved to "Medical" where I could be alone and start to heal. That's when my BFK Aunties came to visit me. They saw that I was bruised, and sore and had many wounds that needed to be cared for. So off I went to the kind vets and then to a great foster home where I began to trust, gain confidence and feel special at last.
The vets also found out something about me that makes me even more special (aside from being loving and devoted, that is!) You see I had this thing called a seizure. So they started me on these little tiny pills and I haven’t had one since,. Hopefully I won’t have any more either! (That’s why I’m so glad I have my medicine.) Of course I walk, play and cuddle just like any other furkid. I did, however, need someone who is dog savvy - and willing to be in charge. I definitely feel more secure when I have boundaries and rewards.
Soon I was lucky enough to be adopted - but then in a matter of weeks my new Mom fell and broke her leg and had to go to this placed called 'Rehab", Her daughter said she would take care of me - but she had a BIG German Shepherd who was playful and scared me! (Remember I was attacked by a BIG dog at the shelter and 65 pounds is BIG!) Before you could say 'lickety split' I came back to Bichon FurKids.
So now I'm looking for my Ideal Home:
* Someone who is home most of the time
* A quiet relaxed environment
* An adult only home, preferably with a woman/women (or with a couple where the man is gentle and patient)
Experience level:
* Had dogs as an adult
* Recent/current dog experience
* Rescue dog experience a plus
*Able to be the Alpha in charge, set boundaries and reward me
So, if you’re interested in a darling bichon boy who will snuggle his way into your heart, then ask for Finley as I’ll be waiting!!
Tail wags and cuddles,
Faithful and Fantastic Finley
