Cash: 5 year old, black and tan, neutered male, natural ears and docked tail. 16" tall and about 18 pounds. Shots up to date, owner surrender.
My name is Cash and I am a dog that needs a job. I have lots of skills.
My foster mom says I must be some kind of a throw-back because I have crazy good varmint hunting skills. Mice and rats have NO chance of surviving around me. My 'nose' is good and I will track them to where ever they are hiding. If I can't figure out how to get to them I will wait until they slip up and then its over! Anything that is smaller than me and isn't a dog is a varmint as far as I am concerned. My foster mom says cats and chickens don't count, but I don't believe her. I caught and killed a possum recently. My foster mom wouldn't let me eat it! When she came to take it away we had words and I got in big trouble. She did take it though. I think that is totally unfair!
I am a great watch dog - no one will approach your house without me noticing and telling you. I know how to sound really mean too.
I like to run, jump and climb so she says I might be good at 'agility', whatever that means. All I know is that it doesn't bother me to clamber up anything I can, jump down from high spots, crawl under and through anything I'm too big to see under, and run really, really fast for a long time.
My foster mom says.... "Cash is a very special dog. He came to us a little over a year ago after having spent most of his life living outside. We've acclimated him to living indoors, convinced him to potty outside and crate trained him. Its taken me a long time to get him ready for adoption and I love him very much but I am not the right forever home for this boy. Cash is very loving and loyal once he bonds with you. He is a high energy min pin that needs regular daily exercise. He needs a large secure place to run and play outside. Absolutely no cats, rabbits or any other small furry creatures can live in the home (no neighborhood cats that visit your back yard either). His prey drive is just too strong to risk that. Cash is fine with other dogs although he will bully smaller dogs to take their treats if he can get away with it. We live next to ranch land and while he has managed to get into the pasture occasionally he hasn't chased the sheep or horses. He does bark at them though. All bets were off with the jack rabbits. He needs a strong owner who is patient and loving as he does have a min pin stubborn streak. No small children as he may knock them down if he is excited, and he gets excited a lot. Cash has been challenging but he has been worth it. Once you meet him I think you will agree."
