Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.

PLEASE READ ALL OF THE INFORMATION BELOW.
Homeward Bound CT is a group of volunteers that helps rescues find homes for their dogs. These dogs are not able to be seen until our event. All of the event information is listed below. We feel most of the answers to the questions asked are below.
Please visit our website to fill out an application to adopt one of the dogs coming to our event. We do not approve adopters for specific dogs but clear them to be able to adopt from us.
WE ARE ONLY ADOPTING TO ADOPTERS IN CONNECTICUT FOR THIS EVENT.
Information on the dog you are interested in.
Tahoe will be coming to our adoption event October 13th and 14th at the Guilford Fairgrounds. If you are interested in applying for Tahoe, please click the link in the side bar to take you to our site. All application information is available along with all the other dogs coming to our event.
A little information about Tahoe...
HOW I CAME TO THE SHELTER: Tahoe had completely lost hope and his time was nearly up. He was depressed, scared, and suffering from heartworms on a cold shelter floor. SAVE was his last hope.
THINGS I LIKE AND DISLIKE: Despite Tahoe's condition, there was a sweet soul hiding in there. You wouldn't believe the dog that he has transformed into. He spent a month at training where he learned basic commands and how to be a happy dog once again. He's left his past behind, regained all hope and lives every day to the fullest. He is ready to find that special family of his own. Tahoe enjoys belly rubs, kisses, doggie daycare, rolling in the grass and everything else his new life has to offer. He has not been tested with kids or cats.
HEALTH ISSUES: Tahoe is now heart worm free and has no other medical issues.
We are open to the public from 11:30 am to 4 pm Saturday the 13th and 11:00 am - 3 pm on Sunday the 14th. Applicants who apply online by October 6th will be allowed early entrance at 10am on Saturday. All final decisions are made by the rescues not Homeward Bound volunteers. If you are interested in this dog or any of our dogs please go to www.homewardboundct.org (copy and paste in browser window) and see all of the dogs coming and also fill out an application. Please note that most of these dogs are not in Connecticut and will be arriving the day prior so it is most likely not possible for you to meet them prior to the event.
If you are a first time dog owner we may require a home visit prior to adoption.
If you rent or live in a condo we will require proof that you are able to have a dog. This could be a copy of the lease or condo agreement.
All the residents in the household MUST come to the event along with any dog in your home for a meet and greet with our trainers.
We are only adopting to CONNECTICUT RESIDENTS at this time. Sorry for the inconvenience but suggest you visit your local shelters or rescues for dogs in your area.
We also require a follow up visit with all families within a couple of months after the adoption.
Since we know there are many questions, please realize we will answer questions of those who have filled out an application first.
Adoption Fee is no more than $385. All dogs will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated to age and also microchipped.
If you have additional questions about our dogs feel free to contact us. Please understand that we are all volunteers and will try to get back to you as soon as possible. If it is close to our event we are very busy with pre-screening our applicants so please understand if we can't answer all your questions in a timely manner. Our goal is to make sure these dogs go to the best home possible.
