Chessie and Darby are a bonded pair of young adult piggies who were saved from a local shelter hours before they were to be euthanized for ringworm. The girls didn't actually have ringworm but instead their feet were red and tender from scald and contacted dermatitis caused by urine-soaked pine bedding. Both girls are about 6 months old and are very gentle, friendly and sometimes they are even too busy playing to sit still and let you pet their heads. They are still adjusting to their new life of comfort, attention and endless healthy hay and snacks.
Chessie has short reddish brown and white hair with adorable brown patches around her eyes. She is curious and stands on the bars to see what you are up to and will wheek at you if she hears a bag rustle somewhere in the house. Darby is a sweet Abyssinian with white, light brown and dark brown colorings. She is a little bit shier than Chessie, but she too is curious and interested in her human friends.
These two gals have an excellent appetite for Oxbow pellets and Timothy hay. The girls love to eat and they have yet to meet a veggie that they won't try! Chessie and Darby need to live in a Rescue-required Cubes and Coroplast cage of at least 2 cubes by 4 cubes located in a room the family spends time in so everyone can enjoy their company.
The adoption fee for Chessie and Darby is $70 (intact female -$35/each). Are you interested in finding out more about adopting this lovable pair?
