My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

It's hard to describe the condition Lily was in when we were asked to take in two backyard dogs from their original owner. Their coats were unkempt and matted, they were covered in fleas, had never received any medical care or even vaccines. And they looked at us with pure fear in their eyes. Jessie, the younger and more confident of the two has been adopted and doing really well, but Lily was the older of the two and had lived for a longer time without tender human care.

She is around 6 years old and wants desperately to trust humans but is having a bit of a hard time knowing how to do that. She will not bite or nip, she wants to be close, she seems very unhappy when left alone, but yet is so fearful of what people might do, she crumples to the ground when you reach for her. She is also not 100% house trained because she seems nervous that she might be left outside, but she is getting better by the day!

With all that said, she loves to ride in the car to go on outdoor adventures with people she is getting to know and trust and to walk as close as she can and hang out with other friendly dogs! So she's a bit of a mystery!!

If you have another friendly smaller or medium size dog and would like to be a part of Lily's blossoming into a happy loved dog, she might be right for you. But you will need to be patient!

We have spayed Lily, done bloodwork and even a thorough dental cleaning on her. She's in good physical health.
