Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lucky is one of those “special” dogs that you fall head over heels in love with the minute you meet him. Uncharacteristically large brown eyes and whimsical long hair around his sweet face, give Lucky a uniquely endearing appearance. As sweet as he looks, his personality is just the same. In fact, his “hugability” and tummy-rub factor is way up there. He craves human attention. This Collie boy, only 19 months old, was given up to rescue by his previous family, who lost their home to foreclosure. He is crate trained, leash-trained and ex-pen trained, but not house-trained. Or wasn’t, anyway. While in foster care, he seemingly potty-trained himself with not one accident in the house. And he now knows how to use the doggie-door. We are working on his otherwise awful house manners, like counter-surfing and taking the occasional test bite on a piece of furniture, or jumping up on the bed. Think “puppy” in an adult dog body. However, here’s an additional perk, he’s not “a barker” -- at least by Collie standards!
Lucky grew up with another Collie and so far seems to get along nicely with other dogs. He absolutely loves to play, and we are hoping to place him in a home with another young, amicable, and similar sized dog. Lucky can also settle down and be mellow and calms down nicely when he is given a time-out in his crate or playpen. He will sit for a treat, and stay, and is very food motivated. He is very polite and doesn’t seem to be a resource-guarder. This young Collie boy appears to be very healthy, athletic, bright, and attentive – an excellent candidate for dog performance sports, like agility, obedience, herding, etc! And just the right age to get started. Lucky did not grow up with cats, and based upon his reaction to mine, we would not place him in a home with a kitty.
If you feel that you have the right forever home (in Northern California) for Lucky, please send an e-mail with an attached application to Andrea at: andrea@calcollierescue.org. I will do my best to get back to applicants as soon as possible.
