Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Marlee is currently located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down here, so she is willing to move north for a good loving forever home.
Marlee's story is a common one - family gets a puppy for the kids, the puppy grows up, the kids get bored with it, dog gets put outside, where it barks and cries constantly. So we convinced the parents to surrender Marlee and she is now ready for a home with a family that will love her forever. Marlee is a mixed breed dog, and there is definitely some Great Pyrenees and Border collie or other herding breed in the mix. Marlee is medium sized dog and we don't think she will get over 45 pounds. We are certain that she is still under a year of age, maybe around 8 months old.
Marlee is a happy, gentle and friendly dog. She fairly well behaved in the house and walks well on a leash. She is doing well with house training. Marlee is a bit on the stubborn side (part of her Great Pyr heritage) and she definitely needs more training and socialization. She loves to cuddle, play with toys, and other dogs. Marlee was raised with kids and cats...but chasing cats is still fun. Marlee must be in the house as a loved member of the family. She must be walked on a leash and must have a secure fenced yard to run and play.
Marlee has crate anxiety because her prior family left her crated too long. We are making progress and she now sleeps in a wire crate next to our bed at night. She still cannot be crated during the day or left unsupervised in the house. We leave her out in our fenced yard when we leave (only because it is safe to do this where we live).. Otherwise she would need an enclosed porch, or finished basement to stay in when no one is home.
Marlee is healthy. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, negative for heart worms and current on heart worm and flea preventative. Marlee has a $450.00 adoption fee that includes ground transport to Rocky Hill, Lisbon, or Danbury CT.
