Tony is a gentle and sweet puppy that is just over 6 months old. He and his litter-mates were found on a beach in Mexico a few hours south of Cancun. Worms and other parasites had made short work of his tiny body and it did not look like he was going to make it for a period. Thanks to the dedication and love of a local rescue he was nursed back to full health and has now made the long journey to the United States in search of a loving family to give him a forever home.
His name comes from his striking brindle coat that gives the appearance of tiger stripes. He has long lanky legs, an extended face and tale, and a slender build to go along with his beautiful eyes and goofy smile. There are no known linger effects of his early life health issues and he is now fit, frisky, and growing quickly.
Though Tony loves playing with his foster sister or any just about any toy he can get his little paws on, he can also be a complete cuddle-bug and will curl up in your arms and lap up the affection. Both his house and leash training are progressing nicely, and he is happy to go in to his crate though he can complain when left alone in it. He gets along nicely with other dogs and is good about communicating with them though he can sometimes ignore their cues back.
If you would like to invite Tony in to your life, please fill out an Adoption Application at www.rhar.org so we can schedule a meet-and-greet!
NOTE ABOUT BREED LABELING: Visual breed identification of dogs is unreliable and usually inaccurate. So, for most of our adoptable dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
