Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, my name is Pixie and I’m a beautiful girl whose had a not-so-great life so far. I’ve lived outside in conditions that weren’t very good, and was surrendered to Animal Control just because my family didn’t want me anymore. So I was taken away in a scary truck to the shelter. While I was there, I was terrified and would sit or lay with my head in the corner of the kennel. Then the VSR people came to get me. I’m still very scared but today I wagged my tail when they brought me some chicken to eat. I am not using one of my back legs right now, but the nice doctor is going to look at it tomorrow to check it for an injury. Right now I’m still learning that people and new places are nice and I have air conditioning and good food to eat while I recover from my spay surgery. When I feel better, I’ll get to know the nice VSR folks so they can post my bio. But look at my big beautiful ears! I know I’m a very pretty girl. So stay tuned.
UPDATE!! Precious Pixie has a severely FRACTURED PELVIS! How she can continue to be so sweet and affectionate while tolerating the pain is a mystery. We are consulting with the specialists to figure out what our course of action is going to be. But no matter what, this timid girl is going to need a place to crash while she heals. A foster home with lots of crate rest is a must. If you can offer little Pixie a loving, calm home to recover in, please fill out our online foster, or better yet adoption application. It’s the first step in our process.
