My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

From his foster: :Good things are that he is pretty good on a leash for the most part, even while I'm running. He LOVES going on walks, but we're working on staying calm and not acting scary when someone else comes by with a dog (he barks alot and jumps). He likes to have people near him, and he's definitely high energy (which may be a bad thing for some). He's VERY food motivated - We are working on staying calm when food comes out (I can at least set the bowl down now before he charges at it), and definitely needs to be fed either in a different room or outside if other dogs are around. (I'd even be cautious with snacks). He's ok when I'm eating because I watch him and tell him no, but he most likely would gulp down whatever was in a kid's hand, so smaller children at least I'd be careful with. He also has not tried to chew up any of my things, other than pillows, but I keep plenty of dog toys around to distract him with if it looks like he's about to chew on something he shouldn't and then he's fine. In the evenings (and last week when it rained a bunch and we didn't go outside as much) if he hasn't had enough activity, he tries to mount pretty much everything ‍♀️ Commands, he has 'sit' pretty well, and sort of has 'wait' (stay) for the most part, but 'Come' and 'Lay down' are challenges. He did mark a couple of times the first week, and did have one accident (which was my fault - I was in a work meeting that went long and I couldn't get up to let him out), but hasn't had any incidents since then. The marking quit after I tried one of those dog diaper wraps to discourage it (he did NOT like that ), but I would expect that he might do it again in a new place. He's not the best at letting me know when he needs to go, but we go outside pretty regularly.'April 9, 2024, 12:16 am
