Here's what the humans have to say about me:
JP - FOREVER HOME NEEDED
Male / Black Lab mix / 2yrs / 53lbs
Best as an only pet / No young kids
House trained and crate trained
Foster Update:
Sweet, stubborn, rambunctious JP is here! He's so affectionate and just wants to be near you but doesn't realize his size or strength when he tries climbing all over you to be pet.
He's stubborn when it comes to commands and will only listen if he deems the treat worthy enough lol but we'll get there.
He's very mouthy when he gets excited but apart from that I haven't had any issues with him at all. He walks into his crate at night and stays there until morning and is pretty well behaved on walks.
He's a great little guy who just needs consistent training with basic commands.
JP is a handsome Lab mix; he is approximately 2 years old and weighs 53.2#. JP is a young dog with two speeds - playful and stopped. His favorite thing to do is lounge in the yard with his paws crossed and survey his domain, and he’s content to do that for hours. He also loves to play, and can sometimes be a bit rambunctious, so an owner with good leadership would be a good fit with him. I have found that he loves men, so that would also be a good fit. JP came to the shelter with a bad neck abscess that had gone untreated for quite some time, so he’s still a bit funny about being grabbed about the neck, or wearing a collar. We have found that he does well in a harness. He’s walks well on the leash. JP can get overly stimulated with other dogs so he is best as an only pet right now. He also can nip hard so no young kids.
