My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweetheart Trey! Trey is a special needs guy, he is a 'CH kitty', so foster mom is requiring carpeted room/area where Trey will spend most of his time, and no access to steps. It would be best being contained in one room while home alone. Trey has a significant level of CH, not really able to walk more than a couple of steps before falling. It is really sad to see him, but he is a happy guy. There is a pretty cool private FaceBook group, these cats are not that unusual as we are finding out. Many times though they are euthanized, but really that is not necessary, they are just different, they are not ill and they don't know they aren't the 'norm'. He needs a forever home that will have the time to spend with him and care for him. Sometimes he needs unexpected bath because he didn't make it out of his litter box clean. Foster mom and Trey at one time were on a really good schedule where he would go poo in the morning and foster mom could immediately scoop so if he needed to pee later it was clean. 9 out of 10 times he is not a hot mess from the litter. He travels best in a 'cat in the bag', he really doesn't do well in a crate, it upsets him. His birthday is around July 4th and its possible that he is a Maine Coon mix. Trey is neutered, chipped, received all his 1st year vaccines incl rabies and tested negative for his combo test. Feline cerebellar hypoplasia is a non-progressive, non-contagious neurological condition that results in walking and balance problems. Consequently, an underdeveloped cerebellum can result in underdeveloped or complicated mobility. CH cats are known for their “drunken sailor” walk, which is why they’re known endearingly as “wobbly cats.” CH cats may also experience head tremors, the uncontrollable shaking of the cat’s head when he’s trying to focus. Unless a CH cat has other health issues, his life expectancy is the same as a cat’s without CH. Since the condition is non-progressive, it will never get worse — and in some cases, owners say that their cat became more capable over time.
