Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sweet Dixie is just that - the sweetest pup this side of the Mississippi. She came to ASF with her pack when her precious owner died. She stands 19" at the shoulder and weighs about 41 pounds. She is a 2 year old black tri that is mostly black with dark gold brown tips and a touch of white on her chest. Her dark chocolate eyes give her that perpetual doe-eyed look. She is timid but learning that not all things in the world are scary. She enjoys demolishing her toys by nibbling on the corners until she can get to the stuffing and tear it out, walks (is great off lead), breakfast cookies with her fur siblings, peanut butter, and major snuggling sessions. She is not very fond of carrots or apples (unless they have peanut butter on them!). Sweet Dixie is VERY velcro and very gentle. She walks well on a lead and crates (although she doesn't like it). She knows sit, wait, stop, and is learning her other basic commands. Her secret power is licking you to death with her butterfly kisses. If you don't like kisses, look elsewhere!! Dixie needs someone with a gentle hand and quiet demeanor who can continue showing her the world is not scary. She enjoys being with her fur siblings but doesn't engage too much as they are a little rough. She would benefit from a gentle playmate. She is not vetted with children but they would probably be too much chaos for her. Also unknown with cats but she stood up and took FOCUSED notice of the squirrel running across a window ... so maybe not. If you think you are a fit for Sweet Dixie, please fill out an application with ASF.
