Here's what the humans have to say about me:
PENNY HAS BEEN ADOPTED!
Penny is an 8.5 YO female salt and pepper miniature schnauzer who is about 25 lbs. She was surrendered due to children's allergies. It was actually Penny who has allergies! This little girl came to us very itchy. She is now on prescription medication (Apoquel), using a special shampoo, and fish/grain free diet that are helping her!
She is housetrained and crate trained. Penny is active. Playing fetch with her ball and frisbee is one of her favorite pastimes along with sitting next to you or sleeping. She gets along with other dogs but would prefer to be the only dog if possible.
Penny needs a fenced yard where she can run free and fetch her ball or frisbee. Since she is uneasy around young children, she should only go to a home with children or grandchildren that are teenagers or older.
If you would like to be considered to adopt Penny, you must first apply. Please contact schnauzerrescue@outlook.com for our rescue's application. If you've already applied, please contact schnauzerrescue@outlook.com to be added to the list of those being considered. Rescue Schnauzers usually weigh between 15-25 pounds, they are up to date on shots, heartworm tested and spayed/neutered prior to placement. We make reasonable efforts to evaluate the health and temperament of each dog, however we cannot make any guarantees.
We are not a shelter and do not have a central facility to visit our rescue schnauzers. All dogs are kept in foster homes located throughout the area we cover. PLEASE NOTE: We rescue schnauzers in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., and southern Pennsylvania. We can only accept applications within a reasonable driving distance of our areas of coverage, which includes Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, and eastern West Virginia. For a rescue contact in other areas, please go to our website http://www.schnauzerrescue.net and click on Rescue Links. We have a need for volunteers in Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., Pennsylvania, and Delaware.
Our website features lots of great information about the rescue process, book reviews and training tips. You can donate to Penny's care at http://schnauzerrescue.net/Donate.htm via PayPal or check. All donations go to the veterinary fund and are tax deductible as a charitable contribution. Thanks for your support!
