Scout comes to us from a family that adopted him as a small puppy for their son, who has now moved, and couldn't take him with him. They do not have the means to raise a young GSD and have decided to find a family where he will thrive. He is a gorgeous, year old guy who weighs about 65 or so pounds, and is probably full grown at this point. He is smart, loyal and energetic, like a GSD. He can be independent, but loving like a husky. This guy has a great blend of energy, and will benefit from exercise, training and enrichment activities. Looking for an active person or family, that wants and enjoys to make a dog part of their daily lives. He loves the outdoors and adventure. He will probably be fine with other dogs, but at first he will be scared. He has had a couple of bad experiences with them, and is fearful and is likely to shy away at first. But once he realizes the dog is friendly, he will be fine. He would be better suited for a family with older children, because he still does have some puppy mouthing and jumping going on that will need to be worked on. We are a FORCE FREE rescue. The adoption contract you will be signing specifically states that you agree to NEVER use any aversive methods nor tools like a shock, prong or choke collar. We are never sure about breed because we do not do DNA (we make our best guess), so if that is important to you, this dog may not be the right choice for you. Please, consider everything when making a decision to adopt a puppy. As part of your adoption package, each dog will be fully vaccinated (Da2PP, Rabies), have a microchip, and be spayed/neutered. You may need to come back to us to complete shots, spay or neuter, hw test. You will receive 6 mths of HW preventative.You will receive a free bag of premium puppy food, as well as a gift card from Choice Pet Market if you live in one of the designated zip codes . You will also receive a free complimentary physical exam with a vet. Training is MANDATORY and will be scheduled at a later date and place.
