Here's what the humans have to say about me:
SPRINTER was part of a group of feral cats who were trapped in a local neighborhood. For awhile they were quite the wild bunch. They are gradually getting used to being indoor kitties, and to be more accepting of humans, each at his own pace. Sprinter is a handsome, brown-gray tiger kitty about 2 ½ years old. He was found to have some digs and scrapes on his face and legs, which were considered wounds of unknown origin, so he spent four months in our quarantine room. He DID NOT like being confined, having been an outdoor cat, and became a hissy, spitty, lunging creature armed with sharp claws, if anyone approached.
Now his sentence has been served and he has been moved to another room where the cats are free to roam about during the day. The change in his behavior has been amazing. He gets along with the other kitties and will approach people and will accept patting and rubbing from us. He is still not thrilled with being picked up, but will tolerate this indignity. He can be feisty if he thinks he is being told what to do. He is ready for a new home with patient adults (no small children) who will complete his socialization at his own pace.
